Over €4,000 has been contributed by local businesses to the Greystones Enterprise Strategy. The steering group driving the new enterprise strategy held a business breakfast recently, and we were delighted with the outcome; it was described as the biggest gathering of business people in the area in years.
The steering group, comprises the Greystones and District Chamber of Commerce, Tidy Towns, Councillor Gráinne McLoughlin, Stephen Donnelly TD and myself secured €12,000 from the Leader Programme, and needed to raise an additional €4,000 locally. Now that that’s done, the money will be used for a study, to be carried out over the summer, which will help develop a new strategy for enterprise, job retention and creation in the area. The work is being carried out by UK firm thinkingplace, and will begin in the next few weeks.
