A number of Greystones residents complained to me over the winter months about the state of the footpaths. One lady even had a bad fall on Killincarrig Road due to leaves on the path. Town Engineer Eoin Heslin did stellar work to resolve the issue.
Eoin initially responded by ensuring the area supervisor arranged manual sweeping up of leaves on the paths of Killincarrig and Church Road. Last month, he secured reinstatement of the mini-sweeper around bank holiday weekends and from May to September of this year. It will cover the main street areas of Greystones, Delgany, Killincarrig, Kilpedder, Kilcoole, Newcastle and Newtownmountkennedy as required.
Kudos to our town engineer, whose dedication to keeping our community cleaner and safer has paid off.
