Independent Councillor Jennifer Whitmore has congratulated all those involved in the recent Jobs Club in Kilcoole, describing it as a ‘complete success’. An initiative of the National Learning Network in Bray, the Jobs Club, which was free-of-charge, ran for 6 weeks over March and April. The Club helped participants brush up on their job seeking skills and covered CV preparation, job search and interview techniques.
Whitmore said ‘I am delighted to have been able to work with the National Learning Network and the Kilcoole Community Centre to bring the Jobs Club to Kilcoole. Ten people participated in the club and so far, four of those have found a new job and one person progressed onto an education course. There may also be an opportunity to run another jobs club later in the year, if the demand is there.
The National Learning Network (Bray) provides a range of flexible training courses and support services for people who need specialist help in finding employment.
