Seanad 2016 – Agricultural & Fisheries Panel


Councillor Jennifer Whitmore is the Social Democrats candidate for the Agriculture Panel of Seanad Eireann.

Jennifer was first elected to Wicklow County Council in 2014 having previously worked as a project manager with Stephen Donnelly TD. Before this, she worked for 10 years alongside government Ministers developing environmental law, water management and energy policy. She has also extensive experience in fisheries management and aquaculture at both a national and European level.

Jennifer joined the Social Democrats in November 2015. To Jennifer, social democracy is all about building strong communities that are underpinned by a thriving economy. Their values are ones of transparency and fairness.

She believes that the leaders of the Social Democrats have espoused these principles and values during their time in the Dail and she is very proud to be able to call herself a member of the team.

Jennifer lives in Delgany, Co. Wicklow with her husband Tony and their 4 children.
